Boricuas Holding it Down Organizing Series

Our culturally responsive training series emphasizes the powerful reserve of our community’s knowledge and experiences in organizing for progressive change. With the support of the Ford Foundation and developed in partnership with Liberation in a Generation, Boricuas Holding It Down! engages participants in the fundamentals of community organizing as it centers our immense pride in our identity and our shared interests and aspirations. Food Sovereignty Forum

In partnership with colleagues from the U.S. territories, we coordinated a first-ever panel event moderated by Amy Goodman at New York University on how Caribbean and Pacific Island women are leading on the issue of food self sufficiency. We were able to convene diasporas and allies with the support of the Fund for the City of New York, Lisette Nieves, and the New York Women’s Foundation.
